Ashtanga Yoga

This class is a heated Vinyasa yoga class derived from the classical Ashtanga Yoga system developed in India by the late Sri Krishna Pattabhi Jois. The physical practice of Ashtanga yoga is a disciplined flow that is meant to heat and purify the body, cleanse the organs, and quiet the mind. This is done through adherence to a specific set of postures (asana), gazing points (dristi), breathing techniques (pranayama), and engagement of energetic locks (bandhas). Practiced on a regular basis, Ashtanga yoga becomes a moving meditation for the mind, body, and spirit.
